SOCHO BECHO SEEKHO !!!
SWADESHI MANDI is a concept which aims at teaching B-School
students the application of the concepts by selling your ideas or products. This
year the theme was ‘Vocal for Local’ in line with ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’. The
event was launched on the 74th Independence day of India.
The event was light up with the presence of Dr. Abhay Jere and NITIE alumna Ms. Apeksha.
- Dr. Abhay Jere – Chief Innovation officer, Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India
He spoke about ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ and the
importance of our local products which time has taught us. He also stressed on
the huge demography of our country and how we can leverage this to have a pool
of ideas and help making India Self-reliant.
There is a need to promote our local products and help boost
the economy. In order to achieve the vision of Shri. Narendra Modi to
attain a $5 Trillion economy, every individual needs to play a role and
contribute.
Especially in challenging situations like the COVID -19 crisis, we need to push for our local products. And make the most of this opportunity.
· Ms. Apeksha – Founder ‘Zayka ka Tadka’
She is a NITIE alumna, who was placed through campus into
P&G. After joining the job, she realized that it was entrepreneurship where
she belonged and quit her stable job to pursue her dream of being and entrepreneur.
She started this online cooking platform named ‘Zayka ka
Tadka’.It started as a blog and an online recipe sharing platform in early 2015
and later evolved to become a text recipe sharing platform officially in 2017.
It gradually evolved to becoming a live cooking video platform, where this Mom and daughter duo share delicious recipes.
She described her journey to us and encouraged to look for
ideas that are present around. We can be innovative and bring change with the simplest
of ideas. She also described about the process of being an entrepreneur – look for
an idea around you, delve deep into innovating it and finally executing the
idea.
This journey requires being tenacious. You need to believe
in your idea and stick to it. This helped Ms. Apeksha and surely will do to all
who are reading this post.
At last, I would like to sum up by flashing light on the
idea put forward by 1/12 Mandi Sir of doing ‘Karobari’ rather than doing ‘Karigari’.
Karobari - doing business and being a source of employment
generation
Karigari - doing job and being employed by somebody else
Take a grade from my side. Which one I won't tell
